Temp Job in Arcadia

There have been a couple of times in my life where an opportunity to get ahead in life has landed in my lap and I let it slip away.  Looking back I can see the signs that I missed at the time, so moving forward in my life I am consciously watching for them so I don’t repeat my mistakes.

This week I managed to seize one of these opportunities – let me tell you the story.

I was staying out at the house of a buddy of mine last week and I was planning to head home and look for work.  As many of you know, I lost my job a while ago and have been living on my savings, but that money has been slowly running out.

I really needed to replenish the bank account.

As it turned out, my buddy had a big contract to do some windows replacement in Arcadia for the next couple of weeks and one of his workers decided to skip out on him.

Basically, he was a man short, so he offered me the job.

Did I take it?

You bet.

In fact, this week has been wonderful.  It has been a long time since I have been paid to do something with my hands and I love it.  Having some money flow into my life instead of out of it for a change has been a blessing.

I’m happy I decided to come to Arcadia for a visit – it has definitely changed my life for the better.
